Providing Quality Memory Care

Responding to the Needs of Our Residents

Thorek Retirement Home has been responding to the needs of residents for more than 125 years. Those with memory impairment can fall into patterns of withdrawal and isolation, which can lead to further cognitive decline.

This is compounded when the resident encounters further limitations such as mobility and hearing impairment. Our innovative memory care programming facilitates engagement and provides the highest quality of life for residents with early to middle stage dementia-related illness.

The Social Element

Programs place a strong emphasis on the social element that has been shown to be the most effective brain exercise of all! Activities emphasize the building of supportive relationships that become even more essential as memory loss progresses.

Regularly Scheduled Activities: All memory care residents also participate in the regular daily activities enjoyed by both independent and assisted living residents. This can include: live entertainment, special classes and community events!
